How important is it to use a matching set of shampoo and conditioner?
I have to use conditioner all of the time now that my hair is long again. Is there any benefit with using the conditioner that goes with the shampoo or is it okay to mix it up.
I really think it is best to use the same brand, because they are made to work together.
For instance, if you used one brand of shampoo-it may really strip your hair of essential oils but they are assuming you'll use their conditioner which will put them back in. Another scenario may be that a conditioner may make your hair weighed down and oily if you didn't use their shampoo.
My favorites are Paul Mitchell or if I want to go cheaper, I use Garnier from Wal-Mart.
I also use the same brand styling products, I find that is what works best.
