I want to paint an abstract for a 12 x 15 room with vaulted ceilings, how big of a canvas should I get?
The painting will be on the 12ft long wall above my couch. I real cant tell what size would be appropriate for my living room.

I would make it slightly smaller then the width of the couch Then measure from the top of the couch to the top of the wall (not the vault) you want it a minimum of 1/3 this space. You can do this in a grouping of 3 also and split your design between the 3 canvases. If you must go smaller flank the image with wall art.
